Design by Santiago Carrasquilla

"For a long time I wrote about what optimism meant to me and how it directly applied to my life. I wanted the experience of the viewer to transcend the moment and to evoke their imagination. For that reason, I used the metaphor of swimming to express what I had gathered from my writings and inquiries. For some reason, whenever I go swimming in a lake or in the ocean, the vast unknown which envelops my floated body, scares me and empowers me. And that, has very much to do with what think of (today) as being optimistic.

Much of the poster I executed in a beautiful house, at the top of a mountain in the outskirts of Bogota, Colombia.

Santiago Carrasquilla is a human being living in Brooklyn, New York. He studies graphic design at the School of Visual Arts and feels very lucky to do so. He often thinks he is right about everything but in the end realizes he doesn't know anything at all.
